St. Stephen's Visitor Info
Visitors are always welcome at St. Stephen's!
Here you'll find a few items to aid your worship time at St. Stephen's
The service times are 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday and 12 noon on Thursday. There will be no Thursday Eucharist during the month of July.
We use the 1979 Book of Common Prayer in our services. To those new to the Episcopal Church we use some abbreviations in our bulletin:
Numbers
notated in the bulletin correspond to the pew book listed
below:
BCP numbers are found in the red Book of Common Prayer.
Hymnal numbers are found in the blue Hymnal 1982.
Hymnal 'S' number are found in the front of the Hymnal
1982.
WLP numbers are found in the green hymnal, Wonder, Love &
Praise.
All baptized persons, regardless of denominational affiliation, who have been admitted to Communion in their own denomination are welcome to receive the Eucharist at our services.
We receive the consecrated bread in our open right palm and either drink from the silver chalice or dip the bread in the gold chalice. If you desire to dip your bread, hold it in your fingers so it is visible to the chalicists. It is entirely a matter of individual choice which way communion is received.
Nursery Care is provided for children ages three and under and is available from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Please ask an usher for directions to the nursery.
A Children's Bible story time is provided for children ages four to eight during the sermon at the 10 a.m. service. The children return to the service at the announcement time so they can receive communion.
We request that newcomers please fill out the blue card located in the hymnal racks in the pews or sign the guestbook so that we can get to know you. There is a coffee hour in the Great Hall after either of the Sunday services. That is a great time to get know some of the folks at St. Stephen's.
We hope to see you at St. Stephen's. Come join us!
